Club Location
Ohio Valley Miata Club is located in Portsmouth, Ohio. Our club membership area covers South Central Ohio counties such as Scioto, Adams, Pike, Ross, Jackson, and Lawrence. Our membership area also covers Northern Kentucky counties such as Lewis and Greenup.
Club History
In the spring of 2008 Steven McGinnis who owns a 2000 Evolution Orange Miata pulled into Gatti's Pizza parking lot to eat supper. Bob and Karen Hayburn who was also in the parking lot began talking about each other's Miata. Bob asked Steve if he would be interested in starting a Miata club in Portsmouth, Ohio. Steve said yes and at that moment the Ohio Valley Miata Club was born and has been growing ever since.
The first year 2009 the Ohio Valley Miata Club met in the New Boston Community Center on the third Thursday of every month. In 2010 the club has changed its location and meeting time to 6:00p.m.the third Monday of every month and the new location is the Port City Pub and Cafe on 424 Chillicothe Street in Portsmouth.
Club Activities
Club members have driven to the 2009 Miatas at the Gap XIII and the 2010 Miatas at the Gap XIV. Several members have participated in many local car shows and parades. Fun runs are popular also such as Shawnee Forest Run and West Union Amish Run. Lunch or Dinner Runs such as Moyer's Winery or Shawnee Resort are popular with the club.
Club Purpose
The Purpose of this organization shall be to promote goodwill for the mutual benefit of club members; to provide social, recreational, technical and instructional activities for the enjoyment of the Mazda Miata MX5 automobile.
